Thanksgiving and Cabinet Refinishing –
Every November, I get excited for the time that we will spend inside my Aunt’s kitchen. The smells, the tastes, the conversations, all of it is timeless. You could take me from a Thanksgiving in 2026, to 2016, and then take me back to 2006, and I can say that not much will have changed. But one thing that I do know did change, since my aunt was an interior decorator/house remodeler, was her cabinets. She would always have the nicest looking kitchen in the city. Don’t get me wrong, she used that kitchen probably more than anyone I knew, but boy, did she make it look great!
Looking back on the consistency of Thanksgiving, but the ever changing cabinets of my aunt, I find it comforting. You could always count on those two things: fresh food, and a fresh looking kitchen.
If you are looking for a great way to save on money, I would recommend not replacing your cabinets, but getting them repainted instead. It will give you the ability to have a great looking kitchen without having to spend the thousands of dollars that come with replacing cabinets.
